With mixed emotions, we share the news that Mark Hagewood, our Executive Director for Church Management, has accepted a new position as the Treasurer/Director of Administrative Services of the Tennessee-Western Kentucky Conference of the UMC. In his new position, Mark will oversee the finances and business operations of the annual conference. This will continue the ministry in church administration that Mark began in 2015 when he joined Belmont UMC's staff as Financial Administrative Coordinator. He became Business Manager in 2020 and was promoted to Executive Director for Church Management in 2023. In this role, Mark has been responsible for Belmont’s daily operations, business administration, human resources, and technical infrastructure.

We will deeply miss both Mark’s work and his dedication to Belmont UMC. We wish him well in his new position and know that he will continue to serve the larger UMC with the same passion and positive attitude. May 23 will be his last day at BUMC; he will start at the conference office on June 1.

The SPRC is forming a search committee, led by Louis Jordan and Marlene Alvarez, to interview and recommend a replacement. Additional updates, including information on how to express our gratitude to Mark, will be provided as soon as possible.

Best of luck to you, Mark. We do wish you well in this new phase of your ministry.
