In Parker Hall. On Thursday, August 17, Belmont and Edgehill UMC’s United Methodist Women (UMW) will hold their 17th annual “Summer Happening” event at 5:30 p.m. in Parker Hall. Nancy Pigg, a life-long champion of civil rights and education, will share her colorful life journey. Many Belmont UMC members admire, among other things, how she organized and runs “The Spot,” an after school program for teens. She has also embraced the blessings and challenges of being part of a biracial family. Make plans to attend and be inspired as Nancy shares what has influenced her Christian personhood and her passion for faith-full action. All are welcome and childcare will be provided upon request. If you need childcare, contact Linny Jessie (linny@belmontumc.org) no later than Monday, August 14.
