In Parker Hall. On Sunday, October 21, at 11:45 a.m. in Parker Hall, Cas Wucher will share with Belmont UMC women of all ages about the Days for Girls initiative, which provides sustainable feminine hygiene kits for girls worldwide so that they are able to go to school throughout the month. A box lunch will be available for $10; call 615-383-0832 or email ahoback@belmontumc.org to register. In fewer than ten years, one million girls in 120+ countries on six continents have received kits. Girls receive personal care solutions (washable kits), health education, and income generating opportunities. Stigma and limitations are shattered; communities grow stronger. If you can, please bring girls’ panties (sizes 10, 12, or 14), washcloths, hotel size soaps, and/or gift cards to JoAnn’s Fabrics so volunteers can make kits. Tax-deductible checks are also appreciated. Disposable feminine pads will also be collected for Nashville schools where they are needed for girls to be able to attend full-time. For more information, go to daysforgirls.org or contact Lori Pearce (thepearces@comcast.net).
