A vital program of Belmont United Methodist Church, the music ministry includes 10 choral and handbell choirs involving more than 160 participants of all ages. All choirs are voluntary, and everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate. All groups prepare a widely varied repertoire that is offered on a regular basis for a creatively traditional Sunday worship style. With the exception of the Sanctuary Choir which sings year-round, the choir year runs in coordination with the academic calendar, mid-August to mid-May."
Music creates a strong bond of community because it joins persons together in a group art that is meaningful, educational, enjoyable, challenging, personal, emotional and spiritual. You are invited to be a part of this thriving ministry. Questions about the music ministry can be directed to:
Emily Bowland concert on March 5
On Sunday, March 5, at 6:00pm, Clarinetist Emily Wasson Bowland along with pianist, Allesandra Volpi and Hornist, Jennifer Kummer, will present a concert in Belmont UMC's sanctuary. The concert will include works by Carl Reinecke, Béla Kovács, and James M. Stephensen. We have enjoyed hearing Emily in worship, and now have the opportunity to hear her play some extraordinary classics in the concert setting. All three musicians maintain active careers in performing, teaching, and recording. Full bios can be viewed by clicking here. We are privileged to have the opportunity to host these accomplished artists. Please plan to join in this occasion to welcome them to our community. We hope to see you there!
