Q: How can I become a member of Belmont United Methodist Church?
A: Contact/"> Paul Purdue to set up an appointment. If you have been baptized in another Christian denomination, it is not necessary to be baptized again. We accept and believe in one baptism by water and the Spirit. Once you have your questions answered and complete a New Member Form, we will select a time during worship when you would like to join and be welcomed by the community.
Q: What are the steps for having our child baptized, or for being baptized as a youth or adult?
A: Contact Paul Purdue to make an appointment regarding your interest in baptism. He will gladly meet with you and take you through the steps of this holy sacrament.
Q: Do I have to be a member to receive Holy Communion?
A: No. In the United Methodist Church, we believe in an open table for communion where all are welcome. We believe that the sacrament of Holy Communion is an act of God’s grace extended to everyone.
Q: How can I set up a time to meet one of the pastors?

Q: Do you have a nursery during worship and Sunday school?
A: Yes. We provide childcare on Sunday mornings from 9:00-11:45am (or when the service ends) for children ages 6 weeks-two years. Contact Amy Cooper more information.

A: Yes, if you need childcare for a church sponsored event at the church, contact Amy Cooper more information.
Q: Do you have a Safe Sanctuary policy?
A: Yes, the Belmont UMC Safe Sanctuary policy assists us in creating and providing a safe environment for our children, youth, and vulnerable adults.
Q: Are children welcome in worship?
A: Yes! We want children to know from the earliest age possible that they are beloved children of God and an important part of the worshiping community.
Q: How can I find a Sunday school class or small group to join?
A: We have classes for children, teens, and adults.

Q: Where is the main entrance to your building?
A: The main entrance to the sanctuary is on Acklen Avenue, the side of the building with six columns. This entrance leads to the narthex which leads to the sanctuary. From Acklen Avenue, go up the concrete steps to a porch with five doors. Please enter. View or download our BUMC building map.
Q: What are your business hours?
A. During the week, enter our building through the Iris Room entrance. To reach this entrance, first go to the parking lot behind the church.
