The Thomas Family Piano
A generous gift from the family of long-time choir member and Belmont member, Robert Thomas, allowed the church to purchase a Steinway model B piano for the sanctuary in 2024. Built in 1994, the piano was meticulously cared for by the renowned technician Franz Mohr, who was personal technician for piano greats Vladimir Horowitz, Van Cliburn, and Glenn Gould.
The Möller Organ
Built by the M. P. Möller company of Hagerstown, Maryland, and installed in 1988, Belmont’s organ has a 4-manual console with 49 stops and 4,078 pipes divided into 70 ranks. The current organ includes some pipework from the previous Aeolian-Votey (1929) and Rueter (1960) instruments. Renovations and revisions to the organ were completed by Daniel L. Angerstein Organ Works in 2012, including an upgraded electronic system, new piston and stop action, keyboard refurbishment, new shades for the swell and positive divisions as well as a complete tonal finishing and revoicing.
Schulmerich Handbells
Belmont owns one 5-octave set, one 4-octave set, and one 3-octave set of handbells and one 6-octave set of handchimes, all made by the Schulmerich Bell Company.
