Save the date for the Be SMART program on March 19

Firearms are the leading cause of death among children in the U.S. and Tennessee. Secure firearm storage is a proven and effective way to prevent these tragedies. On Wednesday, March 19, Dr. Alanna Truss from Be SMART — a program developed by the Everytown for Gun Safety Support Fund — will lead a discussion for parents and all adults concerned about kids, guns, and safety. Be SMART takes a nonpartisan, values-driven, educational approach to helping adults understand the importance of secure firearm storage and provides strategies to promote this life-saving conversation among family, friends, and neighbors. This program will take place at 6:00 p.m. in room 124.
