Community Care Fellowship spotlight for March 12

This week’s Outreach spotlight is on Community Care Fellowship's (CCF) Madison Resource Hub and Children’s Center.

CCF’s newest resource hub for homeless families is in Madison, located at City Road UMC. To assist the families with children, while the parents job hunt or receive other stabilizing services, CCF opened another Child Development Center at the Family MHNC located in City Road UMC facility.

On-site volunteer shifts on Mondays and Wednesdays, 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Off-site opportunities include making food bags, hygiene kits, and gifts of other items.

For more information on the Madison site, call 615-840-9065.

Community Care Fellowship spotlight for March 5

This week’s Outreach spotlight is on Community Care Fellowship's (CCF) transformational services.

When homeless persons and families come to Belmont UMC in need of assistance greater than we can provide, we refer them to CCF. CCF is our partner and offers stabilizing services at their resource hubs in East Nashville, West Nashville, and Madison. Beyond that, as people gain stability, CCF offers transformational services to help them get on their feet, housed, employed, educated, and their children cared for. Transformational services include Dare to Dream Child Development Center located at the East Nashville campus and another child development center in connection with the Resource Hub in Madison.

To learn more about transformational services, go to ccfnashville.com.

Community Care Fellowship spotlight for February 26

This week’s Outreach spotlight is on Community Care Fellowship's (CCF) Resource Hubs for homeless persons and families, located in 3 parts of Nashville.

CCF’s Resource Hubs provide counseling, mail services, showers (8,000-6,000 per year) and laundry facilities (6,500-4,500, loads per year); 35,000 hygiene items annually, and 20,000-30,000 meals per year. Resource Hubs located in East Nashville, West Nashville (at Bellevue UMC), and Madison (at City Road UMC) are the foundation to our hyper-local systematic approach to ending homelessness in the Nashville community and beyond. Resource Hubs are where our principal stabilizing services including meals, showers, laundry, hygiene, mail, pastoral counseling, mental health services, and case management can be provided throughout the city to individuals experiencing homelessness.

These Resource Hubs are also safe spaces for our neighbor’s experiencing homelessness and those living below the poverty line. They are a place to live out our mission - Serving Christ by offering hope, love, and resources to our neighbors experiencing housing insecurity.

Volunteers are needed. Some classes and several members volunteered for many years at CCF’s East Nashville Campus. Today, more volunteers are needed including replacements for some who are no longer able.

Volunteer opportunities include:

Front Desk Registration and Hygiene. Monday-Friday, 9:00am-12:00pm and 12:00-2:30pm.
Breakfast helpers, Monday-Friday, 8:45-9:45am.
Lunch helpers, Monday-Friday, 10:30am-12:30pm.
Sunday's Table, 11:00am-1:00pm.
Leading a Bible study, Monday-Friday, 12:30-1:20pm.

Community Care Fellowship spotlight for February 19

This week's Outreach spotlight is on Community Care Fellowship's (CCF) Dare to Dream Child Development Center, a recipient of our 2022 Christmas Miracle Offering.

Started in 2019, Dare to Dream includes a parental counseling component, teaching parents how to be their child's educational advocate. By structuring the program to empower both children and parents, we are laying a foundation for future educational success. This holistic approach empowers children to be successful in school, working to break the cycle of poverty through education.

Please consider volunteering. Volunteer opportunities are available Monday-Friday, from 9:00am-12:00pm and 1:30-3:30pm. Margie Winston, Director, is willing to work around ndividuals’
schedules. Three of our church members are already helping out on a regular basis. If you'd like to volunteer, contact Margie (615-227-1953).
