Tennessee Justice for Our Neighbors (TNJFON) is offering two upcoming opportunities to learn more about and support our immigrant neighbors. If you missed Sheri Lea Sellmeyer’s recent talk at Belmont UMC, you’ll have another opportunity to hear from her on Tuesday, October 6, at 5:00pm, at a free book panel featuring Sheri and individuals whose stories are included in her book, Nashville’s New Americans. The conversation will explore the many contributions immigrants have made to Nashville, and copies of the book will be available for purchase through co-host Parnassus Books. Register at tnjfon.org/booktalk.
Then, on Wednesday, October 28, at 5:00pm, TNJFON will offer an informational session for anyone who wants to better understand how to help community members navigate immigration-related legal questions. Experts will share how to find reliable legal assistance and avoid common pitfalls. Registration is required, and the location will be shared with registered participants. Sign up at tnjfon.org/comingtogether.
