Composed in 1985, Requiem by John Rutter has been part of Belmont UMC’s DNA since the Sanctuary Choir first performed it in 1987 under the direction of Dan Stokes. The choir has presented the work three times since then and will perform it again on Palm Sunday, March 29, at 3:00pm with the choirs of Calvary and East End UMCs.
The Requiem will be accompanied by an orchestra of strings, woodwinds, French horns, harp, and percussion, and will be part of a liturgical service that traces the movement from Palm Sunday into the Passion of Christ. We hope you will join us for this beautiful service from 3:00–4:00pm. Childcare will be provided.
