Nashville Pride is June 22-23, and Belmont UMC will be there along with other local United Methodist churches. This year, Belmont's booth (number 51) will be adjacent to West End and East End UMC's booths (view the BUMC Pride Fest Map). We hope to have a large presence led by Belmonters and members from Edgehill, East End, Glendale, and West End. Booth attendants are needed for two-hour time slots each day. If you would like to volunteer, you can sign up online by clicking here. In addition to booth attendants, we hope that many other clergy and lay people will gather around the booths for an even greater welcoming presence. Forms will be available at each booth for people wanting to connect with a welcoming congregation within the UMC and a clergy person from each congregation will personally reach out to them. Clergy across the conference will celebrate Holy Communion throughout both days..

In addition to having a presence at the booth, on Saturday, June 22, at 10:00am UMC clergy and members are invited to march in the parade together. Churches are invited to bring banners, flags, etc., and march together behind the “Tennessee United Methodists for Inclusion” banner.

We invite UMC members from all churches (large and small) to join us on the march and at our booths. By collaborating with other churches, we hope to have a large welcoming presence and let the LGBTQ community know that they are affirmed and loved.

Please make plans to join us. For more information about Pride events, location, etc., go to nashvillepride.org. Click here to volunteer as a booth attendant.
