Photographic meditation on the Beatitudes with Mike DuBose

On Wednesday, April 30, Belmonter Mike DuBose will share a photographic meditation on the Beatitudes, accompanied by images from more than 45 years of photojournalism. Join us at 6:00pm in room 124.

Mike grew up in Oak Ridge, often standing on tiptoe to peer over the edge of the darkroom sink in the photo lab his dad built on their back porch. He spent ten years as a daily newspaper photographer at The Tennessean and the Knoxville News-Sentinel. For the past 30 years, he has served as a photojournalist for the news agency of the United Methodist Church.

On the 25th anniversary of La Posada Without Borders, a re-enactment of the Bible story of Mary and Joseph, Friendship Park was closed on the U.S. side while hundreds gathered freely on the Mexico side.
