ENCORE Ministry home help service

Do you ever need help with tasks like changing a hard-to-reach light bulb, replacing a smoke alarm battery, or hanging a picture? Belmont UMC’s Encore Ministry now offers a “Home Help” service for members aged 60 and over!

At your request, a Belmont volunteer can assist you with various tasks, including:

• hang a picture, mirror, etc.
• replace hard to reach light bulbs
• replace a toilet seat
• put up and take down decorations (Christmas, Easter, etc.)
• replace a battery in a smoke alarm
• install a battery operated smoke alarm, door bell/camera
• replace a dead bolt lock, door latch, screen door closer
• remove, replace, or add a shelf
• patch and repaint nail holes where a picture had been hung
• put together a bookcase, chair, or other item that requires assembly

Please note that this service does not include ongoing maintenance tasks like cleaning, lawn mowing, or window washing, nor tasks requiring a licensed professional, such as electrical, plumbing, or carpentry work.

Getting help is easy! Simply call or text Bart Perkey at 615-613-1915 and share what you need. Bart will assign a volunteer who will contact you, arrange a convenient time, and provide the assistance you requested.
