As our connection to Nashville’s universities continues to grow, we wanted to create a special opportunity to celebrate the students who have chosen to call Belmont UMC home during their college years. This week, we have 8 Belmont Bruins are joining our congregation, some from other denominations and some from other UMCs. They have all been active participants in the life of our church, from joining the choir to attending All Church Retreat, and of course spending every Monday night in fellowship at Rachel Parker’s house for our college small group. We are so grateful for these students and all the joy they bring to Belmont UMC’s family!

We also want to thank everyone who makes our college ministry possible. Rachel Parker has created a beautiful, safe place for students to gather and explore their faith in her home over a home cooked meal every week, and we couldn’t be more grateful for her ministry and commitment to these students. So many Belmonters have supported our Bruins through driving them to doctors appointments or grocery stores, inviting them in for meals, and of course through the pledge dollars that allow us to support students on campus and help them to attend events like ACR and next year’s GYTTE trip.

Come greet our newest Belmonters after worship, and check out their names, majors, and hometowns to get to know them a little better: Eleri Hadaway (English, Georgetown, KY), Lucy Spivey (Social Work, Nashville, TN), Elsie Spivey (English, Nashville TN), Grace McNamara (Design Communications, Charlotte, NC), Liz Markay (German & Media Production, Chatham, NJ), Emily Guerry (Fashion Design, Charlotte, NC), Caroline Meyer (Creative and Entertainment Industries, Brentwood, TN), Grayson Lee (Creative and Entertainment Industries, Cabot, AR), and Victoria Mata (Creative and Entertainment Industries and Public Relations, Charlotte, NC).
