In the fall of 1988, Belmont UMC saw an unmet need in the community. Mentally challenged adults had few places where they could live independently in a non-institutional setting. The church’s answer to this need was Homeplace and we are all the richer for it! Over the years, so many of you have been a part of this incredible ministry. There are many amazing stories and we encourage you to share them.

On Sunday, June 13, we invite you to gather with us at 4:00pm at Homeplace (1318 Acklen Avenue) to remember and celebrate the ministry. In the event of rain, this gathering will be rescheduled for June 27.

On June 27, we will honor Homeplace during worship. If you have a memory to share, please send it to Heather Harriss. We’ll collect these stories and offer a special blessing during worship that Sunday.
