Brittany Jordan (she/her) is originally from North Carolina and moved to Nashville in 2010 after living in Cape Town, South Africa, and New York City. During her time in these cities, she worked with several non-profits as a Mission Intern with the General Board of Global Ministries of the UMC. After completing the three-year program, she earned her M.A. in Teaching from Belmont University in 2013. She then taught in MNPS for three years before welcoming her daughter, Sophia.
We are thrilled to announce that Brittany Jordan has accepted the new position of Assistant to the Director of Children’s Ministries, Music, and Families! In this role, Brittany will support children and their families on Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings, helping our children’s ministries continue to flourish through spiritual education, service to others, welcoming new families, and fostering community.
As a long-time member of Belmont UMC, a mother of two, and a teacher at Belmont Weekday School, Brittany’s love for children shines through in everything she does. We are so grateful for the many talents Brittany brings to this ministry.
For the past eight years, Brittany has worked with children in classrooms ranging from 2-year-olds to 5-year-olds. She is currently one of the Pre-K teachers at Belmont Weekday School, where she has been for the last five and a half years. Brittany loves helping this age group prepare for Kindergarten and beyond!
Brittany is married to Andrew Jordan, who grew up at Belmont UMC, and together they have two wonderful children: Sophia (almost 9) and Elijah (almost 5).
Singing has always been an important part of Brittany’s life. She has been singing with Nashville in Harmony—a group whose mission is to use music to build community and create social change—for the past 14 years. She currently serves on their Board of Directors as Past-President because of her strong belief in their work.
In her free time, Brittany enjoys crocheting, reading, and playing board games.
