As was announced this past week, Belmont UMC will begin outsourcing our facility care, including custodial services, through a company called SFM. We give thanks for our two longtime Belmont UMC employees, Redd Gilliam and James Jimmerson, who have worked with us for many years.

Both James and Redd were invited to apply for positions with SFM. James applied and was hired by SFM; he will transition to an SFM employee in our building on June 1. Redd is taking the transition as an opportunity to begin his retirement, also effective June 1. Our Staff Parish Relations Committee has provided for robust separation packages for them. We appreciate all they have meant to Belmont UMC and wanted to provide funding so that they will have financial security as they make this transition.

Cards and notes of thanks for Redd and James for their years of service can be sent to Angie Slade (aslade@belmontumc.org or 2007 Acklen Ave., Nashville, 37212) who will collect and distribute them. While Belmont UMC is confident that we have adequately compensated them for the work they have provided to the church and that we are providing a generous and well-deserved separation package, if you would like to make a personal (non-deductible) financial contribution for James and Redd, our business office will accept those gifts and divide them equally among them after they have left their employment with Belmont UMC.
