Alt: A new kind of Sunday school

Looking for a Sunday school class that embraces faith, wrestles with doubts, and celebrates the beauty of community? Join us for ALT, a new kind of Sunday school— a space for honest conversations, deep questions, and fresh perspectives on what it means to follow Jesus today.

Currently, ALT is reading Hell Bent: How the Fear of Hell Holds Christians Back from a Spirituality of Love by Brian Recker. The book explores how fear-based theology—especially teachings about hell—has shaped many people’s understanding of faith and spirituality. It invites readers to examine how fear, guilt, and shame have often been centered in Christian teaching and to imagine a spirituality rooted more deeply in love, justice, and belonging.

Our class has been having thoughtful conversations about how faith can move away from fear and toward the kind of love-centered spirituality that Jesus modeled. We are following the author’s recommended study schedule, a seven-week discussion series.

Join us on Sunday mornings at 8:45am in room 312. If you’re searching for community, you’ve come to the right place.
