Belmonters once again have the opportunity to help prepare food packets for Rise Against Hunger (formerly “Stop Hunger Now”). This year’s event will take place on Saturday, January 25, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at Calvary UMC.
Rise Against Hunger is a nonprofit service organization with international reach, distributing packets of dried high protein food to areas of acute need. Food packets that we helped prepare in 2019 recently alleviated hunger in Haiti, Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, and Madagascar. During 2019, Rise Against Hunger also sent food to Colombia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Malawi, Mozambique, and Honduras, just to name a few. It is always rewarding to know that you have assisted our brothers and sisters in surviving harsh situations in countries where Belmont UMC members have been active.
Please consider volunteering on January 25. You can register online at calvaryumc.com/rise or when you arrive at Calvary UMC that day.
