Belmont UMC has been given a wonderful opportunity to reflect, define goals, and outline our path forward as a church. The Lilly Foundation provided a generous grant for Belmont University to study how church congregations thrive for the next 5 years. This is the first study of congregations funded by the Lilly Foundation, and Belmont UMC will be among the 18 churches included in the Nashville area. This 5-year process is a great gift to Belmont University, our congregation, and ultimately the community that we serve. To begin the process, we will be gathering data from the congregation to assess our past and present here at Belmont, which will then be compiled and analyzed to inform our future. We will be coming by your Sunday school classes, small group events, and committees to ask about your history at Belmont UMC and collect your thoughts on what it means for you personally to stay connected to our church. We look forward to hearing your thoughts in the next few months.
