There is a kind of Christianity that is a God-given, comfortable, good, and easy journey for the faithful. Such a strain is not Biblical. From his feed box crib to his crucifixion on Calvary, Jesus went about defying expectations, healing the sick, feeding the hungry, welcoming everyone, confronting the calloused, rattling the establishment, worshipping in truth, teaching peacemaking, and planting a community rooted in justice and love. Are we up for that kind of Christian journey?
As we begin 2019, I invite you to join our journey to live more like Jesus as we celebrate Epiphany, renew our baptismal promise, and remember Dr. King's vision. Our worship theme is Journey to Christ, Through Our Baptism, Towards Justice, With Christ. Come, bring your light, and help us reflect the love and light of Christ out into the world in 2019.
