The TWK Conference Anti Racism Coalition invites you to a special event. Please invite other folks from your small groups, SS classes, etc. It is free, but with limited space.

Join the TWK UMC Anti-Racism Coalition as we kick off a year long journey towards justice to honor The Rev. Dr. Autura Eason-Williams with an evening with The Rev. Dr. James Lawson on August 11th at 6pm at Gordon Memorial UMC. Dr. Lawson is one of the foundational architects of the Civil Rights Movement and a retired United Methodist pastor. During the Civil Rights Movement in Nashville, he served as a mentor to the Nashville Student Movement and the Student NonViolent Coordinating Committee in part while he was a student at Vanderbilt Divinity School. His life's work is marked by a Christian commitment to dismantling racism and injustice in all of its forms through nonviolent action. Join us as we sit at the feet of Dr. Lawson and soak in his deep wisdom of what it means to be a Christian disciple fully committed to our baptismal vows to resist evil, injustice, and oppression in whatever forms they present themselves.
