Meet our Habitat family! Marguerite Garang is the future homeowner for the fall 2020 United Methodist build with Habitat for Humanity. Marguerite has 4 children and immigrated from Sudan to the U.S. in 2005 seeking safety, security, freedom, and better weather. She has worked for the last two years as a technician for Aero Design, Aircraft, and Electronics. Her current apartment has two bedrooms and two baths and mold issues aggravating allergies and two burners on the stove don’t work. Furthermore she thinks it unsafe for her children to play outside. She looks forward to a new house with a safe yard.

Habitat’s current plan is for Belmont UMC’s volunteers to work with volunteers from West End UMC on October 10. Habitat anticipates that we will be doing interior painting. Among this year’s changes are that Habitat will provide PPE and work in two smaller groups to minimize contact while working and eating. Our goal is 10 volunteers. To volunteer please contact Heather Harriss or John Kennedy or sign-up online at habitatnashville.org.
