Belmont UMC’s sanctuary will be filled with the story and music of Christmas when the annual Feast of Lights service returns on Sunday, December 15, at 6:00 p.m. Belmont choirs of all ages (the adult Sanctuary Choir, youth Open Door Singers, children’s Chapel Choir, Carillon Ringers, and Wesley Ringers) present traditional and contemporary anthems and carols accompanied by an orchestra of strings, woodwinds, and percussion.

An Advent tradition at Belmont for decades, the Feast of Lights features readings of the Nativity story from prophecy through the birth of Christ. While the music varies each year, some traditions have remained constant over the 60+ years. Some of these include spreading of candlelight, singing Silent Night, but most of all joining together in the celebration of this holy season with Belmont UMC’s community of faith. For many, this long-time tradition is the epitome of the spirit and hope that Christmas brings.

Plan to find your place in continuing this Belmont tradition by joining in this celebration of the birth of our Savior. Childcare is available for pre-school children. A reception follows in the Community Center.
