Christmas in July: Make a child smile!
Want a fun project for families, youth, and adults? Grab one or two Christmas boxes for a child ages 2-12, fill it, and return for distribution in areas of the world where help is needed.
The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) disaster relief will send each box to a missionary in one of eight countries: Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Haiti, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, and Uganda for distribution to local children.
Boxes can be picked up in the Iris Room on Sunday, July 14. Each one will include a list of needed items along with instructions for return. Belmont UMC’s United Methodist Women (UMW), who are sponsoring the project, will have 100 boxes to hand out.
Unsealed boxes should be returned to the Iris Room no later than Sunday, August 11, to ensure delivery in time for Christmas. Each box will require $5 for shipping. If you’d like to donate the shipping cost, please make your check payable to Belmont UMW.
Families, youth, and adults are invited to join in this activity. Your participation will put a big smile on a child’s face!
