Listening groups engage Belmonters in reconciling process

Many Belmonters attended one of the numerous listening sessions conducted by the Reconciling Ministry Team in June. These sessions were for people to express opinions about whether Belmont should become a reconciling congregation and were part of a churchwide discernment process. “As our church continues its discernment about this issue and others, it’s important that all members know that their opinions are important and valued,” said Stephen Mallett, co-chair of the Reconciling Ministry Team. As a next step, those wishing to express opinions confidentially may do so by placing written comments in the marked comment box in the Iris Room entrance area or by sending an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. As always, Ken Edwards and Pam Hawkins, as our ministers, are available to discuss issues affecting the church. Questions about the reconciling process may be directed to Reconciling Ministry Team co-chairs, Stephen Mallett and Sharon Helton.  Please stay tuned for upcoming opportunities for education and dialogue as the discernment process continues.
