At the next Fifth Monday luncheon on April 30, we will hear an enlightening and entertaining presentation from Dr. Carole Bucy. She is Professor of History at Volunteer State Community College
and is always a popular and much-requested speaker. Dr. Bucy plans to talk about Billy Sunday, a well-known baseball player in the 1880s who later became the “most celebrated and influential American evangelist during the first two decades of the 20th century.” He was known for his colorful sermons and frenetic delivery—a sure recipe for a great presentation.
Please make your reservations by calling 383-0832 by Wednesday, April 25, for the Fifth Monday luncheon in Parker Hall on April 30. NOTE: This time only, in order to accommodate Dr. Bucy's schedule, we will start the luncheon at 12:00 p.m. rather than the usual 11:30 a.m.
