Children's Corner

Living into our baptismal vows, we establish connections among family, church, and the spiritual formation of our children. We explore how our homes can be places of rest and celebration, of meaning and deep connection, of creativity and acceptance, of real commitment and spontaneous laughter.  Young and old, we journey together, learning again and again that we are children of God.

Visit Pastor Heather's Faith Steps blog, where you'll learn more about each Faith Step and get ideas for faith practices for your family and find ways to nurture your own spiritual life.

News

We have the best children’s Sunday school teachers in the world! From September through May, they do amazing things with the children of our church. June, July, and August are a chance for them to rest and rejuvenate and this gives us the opportunity to be in ministry with our children. Children’s Ministries has some great ideas for fun faith formation this summer. Your adult Sunday school class can be a part of this! Devote some of your Sundays to outreach within the walls of our church. Contact Heather Harriss to let her know which Sundays either you or your whole class would like to participate in ministry that makes a difference.

Our regular Sunday nursery hours are: 8:15 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Our regular Wednesday night nursery hours are: 5:45 p.m.-9:00 p.m.

Childcare
Childcare is available by prior arrangement for children grade 6 and younger whose parents or guardians are attending meetings, classes or other events at the church.  Contact Linny Jesse, our childcare coordinator at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to request childcare.   It is expected that the parent will remain in the church building.

Our nursery is a place where each child is received into a nurturing, warm, and inviting environment. Dedicated, CPR/First Aid trained, and caring staff serve along with parent volunteers as role models and provide care for most worship services, as well as for many of the ongoing activities on our church.

Our Nursery rooms are located on the first floor, rooms 111 and 115.  Numbered labels and name tags alert workers to allergies and special needs and provide safety in knowing that our babies and toddlers are picked up by their parents or guardians.

Children's Church

Each Sunday, children ages 3-5 are invited to follow the light of Christ upstairs for children’s church. Our children’s church order of worship was created by Jennifer Nimmo and Bruce Williams. Jennifer and her husband, David, regularly lead our children in learning more about the Bible and who we are as children of God. Each Sunday we make a simple craft that relates to our Bible story, and we hear the Bible story from a puppet friend. If you are interested in being a part of this fun and meaningful ministry contact Heather Harriss, Children’s Pastor, at 383-0832, ext. 27. Photo by Heather Harriss
