CALL FOR CREATIVE PAINTINGS -   Are you a creative artist? Do you paint with oil, play with acrylic, dabble with watercolor or pastels? No matter your experience level, the Belmont Arts Council would like to encourage you to provide a submission for the spring art display, featuring painting. This is an opportunity for our church community to appreciate and celebrate the creativity of our members and the artwork they produce. Submissions may be received at the church April 4, 5, and 6. Artwork should be left in the Iris Room. This will be a juried exhibit, with our review provided by a member of the Nashville art community. Decisions regarding what will be included in the exhibit will be made by April 10. Thank you for sharing your creativity!

LIVING FULLY, DYING WELL COURSE TO BE OFFERED -   Living Fully, Dying Well is an eight-week course that will begin Sunday, April 11, concluding on May 30.   The class will meet in Parker Hall during the Sunday School hour from 9:15 – 10:15 a.m. This course is a resource to enable people to look thoughtfully and courageously at life and death and life beyond death through the perspective of the Christian faith in order to make informed choices that can help make life and death more meaningful. This study is designed to assist in making careful, wise, and prayerful preparation for meeting life’s most important moments. Topics include biblical and social perspectives on growing older, practical legal decisions important to everyone, what it means to die well, and how to live more fully. Materials will be furnished from Habitat’s Home Store profits, but volunteers are needed for the labor. This is a great opportunity for volunteers from a Sunday school class or classes or other organizations to volunteer for a particular Saturday or Sunday.  The build location is Timberwood, which is the same location as where Belmont members helped in 2008 and 2009. For more information go to Habitat’s W web site, www.habitatnashville.org, and then click on “Volunteers or Sponsors,” where you’ll find volunteer forms, volunteer contact information, and a map of the build site.

VIM MEXICO TEAM FORMING NOW -   A team is forming now for a VIM Mexico trip from July 17-25. The intergenerational team will travel to the southeastern conference of Mexico where they will work on a local church building project. This area of Mexico is in the temperate highlands and offers beautiful scenery and pleasant weather. Team members will also conduct a Vacation Bible School for the local children, worship, and share fellowship with our Methodist hosts. As always on extended VIM trips, there will be time for sightseeing in order to gain insight into this country rich with culture, history, and friendly people.  The cost will be approximately $550. Some scholarship assistance may be available for those in need. For more information, contact the trip leader, Michael Jordan at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. LENTEN OFFERING -  Belmonters Kara, Jeff, Claire Marin, and Carter Oliver have spent the last seven months as missionaries in Malawi, Africa, working with the Malawi United Methodist Church. This Lent, Belmonters will have the opportunity to continue their support for the Olivers and their work. Beginning Ash Wednesday, envelopes and cans will be handed out for Belmonters to consider making an offering during the time of Lent to further the work of the Olivers in Malawi. The Olivers recently announced that they would be extending their time in Malawi an additional two years. This extension brings new opportunities to build upon the foundation of ministry they have established in Malawi but also the need for further resources to make that work as successful as possible. Please consider a gift to further strengthen their work and the connection between us and our brothers and sisters in faith in Malawi.

GOLDEN TRIANGLE IMMEDIATE NEEDS - The Golden Triangle Fellowship has a family in need of a bassinet for a newborn and sheets (twin and king-size).  If you have any of these items to donate, contact Linda Fields at 615-585-9719.
