Chris Allen is originally from Tampa, Florida. Chris graduated with a B.A. in History, Religious Studies, and American Culture Studies from Washington University. After hearing a call to ministry during college, he attended Duke Divinity School, where he received a Master of Divinity with a concentration in Christian Education.
After graduating from Duke, Chris began serving at Cookeville First UMC as the Coordinator of Children and Youth Discipleship. He has served as youth pastor at Belmont UMC since 2011. Chris’s hope for ministry at Belmont is that all young people and adults would encounter and be continually transformed by Christ’s love within in a life-giving community of faith.
Chris is married to Erica Allen, a Vanderbilt Divinity student and pastoral intern at South End UMC. They have the sweetest dog named Cadbury!
Chris is an avid SEC football fan and a history nerd with a special interest in the early American Republic. He also enjoys reading, watching movies, and training for half-marathons.
