Welcome from Director of Ministry with Young People, Emma Bushong

There are few things in this world I love as much as spending time with youth.

The top thing would have to be Jesus. My walk with the Lord has been what has kept me going in the best and worst times, led me to where I am now, and given me my closest friends, (who are also high on the list). Other top loves are my family, cozy blankets, and music (all kinds, but especially Taylor Swift).

As much as I love all of these things, nothing gives me the same kind of hope & determination for the future like spending time with our young people does. I’ve gained more wisdom from teenagers than from most books I’ve read, and I’m so blessed to be part of this youth community. I hope each person who enters it feels the same level of comfort and safety as I do when I’m wrapped in a fuzzy blanket.

I’d love to connect with you to chat, hear your story, and connect you with our wonderful students. Please feel free to send me a message or give me a call so we can hang out! “

Opportunities to partner with our youth

The Youth Ministry at Belmont UMC is gearing up for an exciting fall as the students are heading back to school. There are many great opportunities for you to get connected and make an impact in the lives of youth and the life of the church for generations to come. If are willing to serve in any of the areas listed below, contact Emma Bushong, Summer Youth Associate, via e-mail or phone, 615-383-0832 ext. 26.

United Methodist Youth (Sunday 5:30-7:15 PM)
Every Sunday night our students gather for fun, fellowship, small group lessons and worship. We need a few to assist with small groups and participate in the formation of our youth. Other opportunities on Sunday nights include helping with setup or leading games.

Youth Midweek (Wednesday 6:00-7:00 PM)

If you are interest in serving, contact Emma so that she can begin the background check process. We will be happy to discuss with you the possibilities for service that fit your gifts and talents.
